OUR VISION FOR ASPIRE

The ASPIRE Programme is the golden thread that runs through our commitment to academic excellence at Penryn College. Our vision is to develop ambitious, scholarly and intellectually curious students who are creative, practical and prepared to thrive in higher education, competitive careers and an ever-changing world.

Through the explicit development of scholarship, challenge, leadership and enrichment, ASPIRE provides opportunities for students to extend themselves beyond the classroom and realize their full potential.

Potential Medics

Potential Medics is a thriving enrichment programme for students considering careers in Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science. Meeting weekly, students gain insight into a range of healthcare professions through talks and workshops led by practising professionals, university students and subject specialists. Previous sessions have included hands-on surgical skills, physiotherapy, and first-hand experiences of studying medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine at university. The programme is designed to inspire, inform and support students on their journey towards competitive healthcare careers.

Language Enrichment

Language Enrichment provides students with the opportunity to broaden their cultural understanding and develop valuable communication skills. Through our ASPIRING 8s and ASPIRING 9s programmes, students are supported and challenged to achieve the highest grades while developing confidence in their language skills. Students also have the opportunity to learn a new language from scratch, explore different cultures, and enhance their speaking and listening abilities. Whether for future study, travel or personal interest, Language Enrichment fosters curiosity, global awareness and a love of learning beyond the classroom.

ASPIRE Subject Support

ASPIRE Subject Support Sessions provide targeted academic support for students preparing for examinations and striving to achieve their full potential. Delivered by subject specialists, these weekly sessions offer opportunities to revisit key knowledge, develop exam technique, tackle challenging concepts and build confidence across a range of subjects. Whether students are aiming to secure a pass grade or achieve the highest outcomes, these sessions provide valuable guidance, additional practice and personalised support beyond the classroom.
